The Rock Wants To Make Football Accessible With XFL

By | May 8, 2022

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the biggest celebrities in the world right now, both literally and figuratively. Johnson is also a dominant force in Hollywood and brings huge star power to any movie he is a part of. The Rock also wants to make football accessible with XFL.

The new XFL will be launching in 2023, with The Rock, his ex-wife and business partner, Dany Garcia, and RedBird Capital Partners, being at the helm of the project. They bought it from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon after two failed attempts at launching it.

As previously reported, The Rock officially unveiled the logo for the XFL in a hype video. Due to this, The Rock was even called out for jacking the new XFL logo. According to Shadow League, The Rock released a series of statements, where he made it clear he wants to make football accessible with the XFL.

”These showcases are an incredible opportunity for passionate players to show up and ball out for a chance to join the XFL. The XFL is all about being at the intersection of dreams and opportunity.

It is our goal to make football more accessible to more players, and our highly experienced team of coaches and personnel directors are ready to help make these professional football dreams come true. The door is open for elite talent across the country to join the XFL – including my home state of Hawai’i. I’m looking forward to seeing these players bringing their best and leaving it all out on the field.”

We will have to wait and see whether The Rock’s venture will prove to be a fruitful one or not. Obviously, a lot more groundwork need to be laid, but Dwayne Johnson is an incredibly influential man. The lot is certainly riding on the success of the XFL right now.
