Things seem to be getting better for Tom Hannifan. Hannifan, formerly known as Tom Phillips, was let go by the WWE last year but took up the job as a color commentator in Impact Wrestling.
Hannifan recently took to social media to announce that he’d be calling tonight’s game between Ohio and Michigan’s men’s college basketball teams on ESPN Radio. He thanked the platform for the opportunity.
“Hi everyone, I have some news. Later tonight I have an opportunity on ESPN Radio, and I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, not only to ESPN for this chance but also to my friends, my family, my peers… anyone that has ever supported me.
“For those of you that have followed my career you understand, not only is this something that is really seven plus months in the making but for me, this is years in the making. And I’m so grateful to have this opportunity. So, I’ll be live on the call in Ann Arbor as Ohio State plays Michigan in men’s basketball. The game is at 6 p.m. eastern tonight on ESPN Radio.”
The 32-year-old parted ways with the WWE last year. He took up commentary role in Impact Wrestling and debuted at the company’s Hard to Kill PPV. He called the PPV alongside former WWE star D’Lo Brown.
