Tony Khan Announces Hook’s Second AEW Opponent

By | December 18, 2021

Hook debuted on the December 10th episode of AEW Rampage. The son of Taz made a big impression on fans with his smooth performance and presentation as a true killer. Many fans believe they witnessed the start of a run that will eventually lead to the AEW World Championship.

The young star didn’t appear on this week’s AEW Dynamite. Tony Khan thinks Hook is something special. He’s hoping to roll him out slowly and deliberately.

His second match has now been announced. Hook will take on Bear Bronson of Bear Country on the Christmas Day AEW Holiday Bash edition of Rampage. Khan announced the match on Twitter and said it was a Christmas gift to AEW fans.

“Thanks to @OfficialTAZ + @730hook, this Christmas, #AEWRampage, I’m giving the world the gift of HOOK!

It will be a much bigger test: HOOK vs. @bearbronsonBC on Saturday Night December 25 @ 9pm ET/8pm CT, as part of a huge Christmas Night Rampage at a special night and time!”

The hype surrounding Hook is very real. Wrestling fans can’t wait to see him unleashed on another victim. This time, he’s picking on someone much larger than his first opponent, Fuego Del Sol.

AEW fans are hoping that 2022 is the year of Hook. This is only his second televised match. The choice of the massive Bear Bronson could serve to further legitimize the take-no-prisoners character presented in Hook’s first match.

What do you think of Tony Khan’s choice for Hook’s second opponent? Let us know in the comments!
