Jim Ross will have to miss several weeks’ worth of AEW Dynamite. He already plans to make his return at New Year’s Smash on January 29th.

Ross tweeted out eariler this evening to say, “Due to my skin cancer care totaling 22 radiation treatments starting Monday, I will hopefully return to the announce desk on December 29 in Jacksonville.” He also stated that Tony Khan, “supports me on this strategy which has been a blessing.”

Tony Khan responded to Jim Ross’ tweet about his AEW absence. While saying that Good ole JR has a great game plan, TK reiterated how much he is standing behind JR.

JR, everyone here at @AEW wishes you the best. I think it’s a great gameplan you’ve got, we look forward to your return to commentary, hopefully in your new hometown Jacksonville FL @dailysplace at New Year’s Smash at the end of December! We want you to kick the cancer’s ass, JR!

We’re wishing Jim Ross the best as he fights skin cancer. Hopefully he will get all the treatment he needs and then he can get back to work.
