Trent Says His Neck Fusion Surgery Went Way Easier Than Expected

By | July 14, 2021

Best Freinds is undoubtedly one of the most popular factions in all of AEW and it comprises Orange Cassidy, Trent, Chuck Taylor and Kris Statlander.

While they have been part of quite a few memorable moments and matches since AEW’s inception, the group also has a bad history with injuries. Kris Statlander suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury that left her on the shelf for 10 months.

After she came back, Trent suffered a neck injury and is unlikely to make a return to the squared circle anytime soon. He underwent neck fusion surgery last month as well.

While speaking to Stephanie Chase, Trent talked about his condition after neck fusion surgery. Trent stated that his surgery was way easier than he expected, but it will be a while until Trent returns.

“It’s been like two weeks and I feel great, but I know that in between my vertebrae, I like don’t have bones or anything. It’s kind of just dust waiting to grow into bone. It doesn’t feel like anything, but it’s going to be a while before I come back. Surgery-wise, it was way easier than I expected. I feel good.”

Trent last wrestled for AEW on the April 21, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he lost against Penta El Zero Miedo. It was only a month after he returned from a torn pectoral injury and once again suffered an injury. We hope Trent will be able to return sooner rather than later.
