RKBro is one of the more entertaining storylines going on in the WWE at the moment. Both Randy Orton and Riddle have been brilliant in their respective roles as of late.
The former RAW Tag Team champions are extremely over with the fans, thanks to their in-ring chemistry and on-screen presence, but a former WWE writer thinks RKBro isn’t doing any thing to further the career of Riddle.
Vince Russo believes WWE is protecting Orton by making Riddle taking the pin in their matches and that the company wants to keep the Legend Killer’s star power intact by making Riddle get the lower end of the stick.
Russo sat down with Dr. Chris Featherstone on Legion of RAW to talk about the tag team of The Legend Killer and The Original Bro and to discuss whether Riddle has benefitted since tagging with Orton.
“I guarantee you, if you looked at all the tag teams matches Riddle and Orton had, and if you looked at all the times they’ve been beat with Riddle doing the job, I guarantee you, whoever they were in there against, management or Vince didn’t feel like those guys could beat Orton.
“Like Kevin Owens beating Orton, I’m not buying that. Even Seth Rollins beating Randy Orton, I’m not buying. But yeah, they could beat Riddle. In every single case when we look at who pinned Riddle, the feeling was probably you’re gonna diminish Orton if someone pins him.”
Russo noted that Riddle has taken too many losses ever since he started on the main roster and this could seriously hurt his push as well as credibility as a future main eventer.
“We’ve talked about this numerous times on this show, they beat Riddle to death. I think Riddle does more jobs than anybody else on the roster. Again, the theory is that the personality is over, they love him, he’s bullet proof. I said a couple of weeks ago, if you keep beating this guy, he’s not going to be bulletproof bro. They’re always jobbing Riddle out.”
Riddle will be joining AJ Styles, Austin Theory, Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley inside the men’s elimination chamber match February 19 at the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia.
