Austin Theory appeared in a backstage segment this week during RAW. During that short interview, he stopped everything to announce a change. He said that Mr. McMahon and he decided that Austin doesn’t fit him anymore. Now his name is just “Theory.”

It’s really no surprise that someone named “Austin” had their name changed. It is actually a surprise that Theory made it this far while sharing the Texas Rattlesnake’s name.

We’ll have to see what’s next for “Theory,” but now the former member of The Way has joined a growing list of Superstar who fell victim to Vince McMahon preferring one word and impactful names.
