WWE Reportedly Disbands Japanese Division

For well over a year now WWE has released well over one hundred members of staff and also Superstars along with them. The company went through a lot of changes and that means disbanding of various divisions as well.

WWE has a good relationship with Japan and NXT continues to use Japanese stars even now. 2015’s Beast In The East event took place in Japan as well and was a huge hit with fans.

According to Gamebiz, WWE has dissolved Japan GK, which was kind of the company’s Japanese divisions. The dissolving took place on September 1st and was first revealed on the “Public Notice of Dissolution” published in the “Government Bulletin on September 2.

In their write-up, translated from Japanese, the publication reported:

It turns out that WWE Japan GK has been dissolved. Yesterday (September 1st), all employees (meaning investors) agreed. It was revealed in the “Public Notice of Dissolution” published in the “Government Bulletin” dated today (September 2nd).

It is a Japanese corporation established by the American professional wrestling organization “WWE”. It was running the Japan tournament, but the “WWE Live Japan” scheduled for July 2-4 this year was canceled.

Japan GK was a Japanese corporation established by WWE and was running the event called “WWE Live Japan” which was scheduled to take place on July 2-4, but was ultimately cancelled. We will have to wait and see how much this decision will end up affecting WWE as a whole.
