WWE Roster Stunned Over R-Truth’s Release Announcement

By | June 1, 2025

The WWE locker room was reportedly left stunned after R-Truth confirmed his release from the company—a decision that caught even fellow Superstars off guard.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select was among the first to comment on the internal reaction, posting on Twitter shortly after the news broke:

A lot of shock and disbelief within the WWE roster over R Truth not being brought back.

That reaction came just moments after R-Truth—real name Ron Killings—shared the update himself on June 1 through Twitter and Instagram. In an emotional message to fans, he made it clear that his time with WWE had officially come to an end.

“Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you 🙏🏾”

This isn’t part of a storyline. WWE has chosen not to renew his contract, officially closing the book on his current run with the company.

The news comes just days after Truth competed against John Cena at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24—a match that many fans saw as a celebration of Truth’s legacy. It also held personal significance, as he has often referred to Cena as his “childhood hero.” While that moment seemed like a career milestone, it now feels more like a quiet farewell.

WWE has yet to issue a public statement, but internally, the reaction tells the story. Even the people sharing the ring with Truth didn’t expect to see him go.
