Sean Waltman is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world his days of competing inside the squared circle are far behind him. He is now focused on sharing his thoughts regarding what goes on in the pro resulting business right now. It seems he opened up about his in-ring return as well.
After a long hiatus, X-Pac made his return to pro wrestling television during The WRLD on GCW PPV event earlier this year. Waltman fended off the attack on Joey Janela by Matt Cardona and Brian Myers.
X-Pac is also set to make his in-ring return at GCW’s Welcome to Heartbreak PPV in Los Angeles on February 25th, where he will team up with Joey Janela and square off against Matt Cardona and Brian Myers.
While speaking to Fightful ahead of his in-ring return, Sean Waltman explained why he believed it is the right time to make his in-ring return and why GCW was the best place to do it.
“I decided I was going to get everything fixed that I could get fixed. I still have one or two little things on my body that are nagging me, but whatever. I feel great. I decided I’m going to make a bit of a comeback. I understand there’s a lot of guys my age and even a bit older that are talking about making comebacks, or are currently making comebacks, and I’m all for all of it. So, you know, there’s one more to add to the list right here.
Anyway. So once I got once I had the surgery, and everything was going good, I just got connected with Brett Lauderdale and GCW because I knew them from back east, I worked for them — they just became Game Changer Wrestling, maybe the last time I worked it up, but man that was several years back I was having those matches where I was still able to get in there, and do my four or five greatest hits as far as moves go. That’s kind of what people want to see. But that wasn’t good enough for me. I don’t even feel great about those matches. I don’t want to — I didn’t want to end it on that.”
Sean Waltman last competed back in April 2019, where he teamed up with Hurricane Helms and Jushin “Thunder” Liger. It remains to be seen how he will fare in his in-ring debut this week.
