RAW
Tonight’s WWE RAW opens with a look back at last week’s steel cage match between Big E and Kevin Owens, where Bobby Lashley returned to attack both men as well as Seth Rollins.
We go live to the arena and out comes the All Mighty, Bobby Lashley, with MVP at his side. Lashley says he showed everyone last week what happens when you mess with the All Mighty. MVP says Lashley is the most terrifying man in WWE and he knows that because everyone is afraid to say his name. Much like the Candyman. But you only need to say his name once and when he shows up, bad things happen.
MVP says you have guys like Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins coming out every week, complaining and moaning to get title opportunities. Bobby Lashley doesn’t whine or complain, he makes statements. MVP says it’s imperative that Lashley gets added to the title match at Day 1 because there is no better way to start the new year that with an All Mighty WWE Champion. Kevin Owens slowly makes his way down to the ring while cutting a promo.
Owens says he hasn’t paid any attention to Lashley for a long time and now he’s out here trying to weasel his way into a title match. As much as he hates him, Owens says Rollins has earned a title shot, much like he has. He’s trying to win the WWE Championship give the fans a proper role model and Champion. Owens says Lashley doesn’t deserve a shot and he doesn’t belong in the match, so he’s going to talk to Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce.
Seth Rollins interrupts Kevin Owens wearing a purple and black suit. He says as much as he admires Bobby’s suit game, and as much as he despises KO, he has to agree that Lashley doesn’t deserve his spot. MVP says they’re terrified. Lashley says if they don’t want him in the match, they should get in the ring and do something about it. Owens suggests him and Rollins team-up to take Lashley down and Seth agrees. Owens tells Seth to go first and they start bickering until Big E comes out.
Big E dances on the stage before calling the rest of them his favourite collection of idiots. Big E reminds Lashley that he beat him to become WWE Champion and Lashley says it was just after a match and he was hurt. Big E says he also beat him in a steel cage and he’ll have no problem doing it again. Pearce and Deville come out and Adam says there will be consequences if anyone touches anyone. Sonya says they’ve decided a Fatal 4-Way is a great idea, so Lashley can join the match if he can beat Big E, Kevin Owens, and Seth Rollins in singles matches, tonight!
We see RK-Bro backstage and Orton isn’t happy because Riddle didn’t watch tape on their potential opponents in the RK-Bro-nament. Orton tells him his broadcasting career is over but Riddle reckons they should become podcasters and try to make money like Pat MacAfee. Orton doesn’t agree and tells Riddle he has better things to do than, say, hanging out with the Jackass crew on Friday night. He tells Riddle if he can beat Otis tonight he can put the broadcasting jacket back on.
