The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) has reached Week 6 of its beach competition season, and this weekend, the action is coming to New York City.
That’s right, get ready for the first-ever professional beach volleyball event to be held in NYC’s iconic Central Park. More than 300 tons of sand will transform Wollman Rink into several courts, where fierce competition will take place over the course of two days.
With a handful of teams ending their regular season this weekend, fans should be in for some intense matchups. Only a few tournaments remain on the schedule ahead of the league championships in Chicago, which means every point counts.
