Booker T To Induct Wife Sharmell Into WWE Hall Of Fame

By | March 14, 2022

Booker T is one of the legends of the business. The five-time WCW Champion experienced a career renaissance in WWE after winning the King of the Ring tournament in 2006. He soon adopted the hilarious and, at times, vicious King Booker gimmick.

But, according to Booker, the gimmick would never have achieved the success it got without his wife. The former World Heavyweight Champion reflected on the involvement of Queen Sharmell in the King Booker storyline during a recent interview with PWInsider.

“Man I tell people all the time, Sharmell has definitely been underrated for what she’s done in the business, for the business. I tell people all the time there would have never been a King Booker run if it wasn’t for Sharmell – that thing was created around her. My career was definitely furthered with Sharmell by my side.

“I don’t think we would have ever seen that character if it wasn’t for Sharmell, as well as you know, the small things that one does for this business. We have Reality Of Wrestling – we’re definitely thinking about the next generation of professional wrestling. Definitely I think she’s worthy of being in the Hall of Fame, plus she’s my queen.”

Sharmell was announced as the latest inductee into WWE’s Hall of Fame Class of 2022 on Monday. WWE announced that Booker T would induct her into the Hall of Fame.

The company has already announced The Undertaker and Vader as HOF 2022 inductees. This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony will take place Friday, April 1st immediately following SmackDown.
