WWE Superstars Show Appreciation To Dakota Kai After Her Release

By | April 29, 2022

Dakota Kai worked hard to make a name for herself in the WWE. She started as an underdog babyface in Triple H’s NXT, but it was as killer heel turn that got her over with the crowd. Unfortunately, she can no longer offer her talents on the main roster because WWE released her today.

WWE released Dakota and nine other NXT performers from their contracts today. The news came as a huge shock to the pro wrestling world. Many of Dakota’s closest friends and mentors in the WWE took to social media to show appreciation to The Captain of Team Kick.

Dakota’s former tag team partner Raquel Rodriquez called Dakota “sweet, humble and genuine.” WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix referred to the 33-year-old as a “leader and an outstanding talent.” NXT 2.0 star Cora Jade said she got tremendous help from Dakota.

Sweet, humble and genuine! You’re my girl 💖

Dakota knew her time in WWE was about to end and was not planning on renewing her contract with the company. Dakota is a two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion with Raquel. We’ll have to wait and see what path she pursues in the wake of her WWE exit.

We can only hope that AEW gives her a look, and if she winds up there we pray Tony Khan learns how to book a women’s division with Kai around.
