UFC 295 undercard: Full list of fights before Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira main event in New York

By | November 8, 2023

After about 18 months away from the octagon, Jiri Prochazka returns in an attempt to reclaim the UFC light heavyweight title, a belt he never lost. The Czech faces former middleweight champion Alex Pereira at UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden on November 11. The full card airs on ESPN+ PPV in the U.S.

A Muay Thai National Championships gold medalist, Prochazka (29-3-1) is a former RIZIN light heavyweight champion. He beat Glover Teixeira in June 2022 to win the UFC light heavyweight belt and was going to defend it in a rematch until he suffered an injury. The light heavyweight title has since been wo, defended, relinquished again, and continues to have no holder.

Prochazka is ready to return to the top.

He will face Pereira (8-2), a former UFC middleweight champion whois 2-0 at MSG and looks to add another win to his impressive resume. A kickboxing champion, the Brazilian has six wins via knockout in MMA.

The 31-year-old Prochazka is aware of his opponent’s power and will look to have a specific game plan ready on fight night.

“I can’t be too weird in my style like I was ‘til now,” Prochazka to UFC.com. “I have to be more precise, especially in a fight with Alex, and I’m happy to fight him. I’m happy to face Alex because it improved me, my style, and it sharpened my mind, my spirit, and my body more than another opponent because I see how he is taking the fighting very seriously. For somebody like me, who is taking fighting a similar way, it is a pleasure, and it is an honor to face this guy.”
