Holy Cross will defend its Patriot League title in an effort to win its second consecutive and 13th overall conference championship.
The Crusaders would become the first team in Patriot League history to win back-to-back titles since Navy did it in 2012 and 2013 if they succeed in 2024.
They’ll have stiff competition, though, after only taking the regular season title and the No. 1 seed by one game over Boston University, Colgate and Loyola Maryland. Holy Cross lost six of its final nine conference games after it jumped out to an 8-1 record heading into February.
Now, the No. 1 and No. 9 seeds are only separated by three games, meaning the tournament could be wide open.
Lehigh, the No. 8 seed, led the Patriot League in scoring with 69.4 points per game. Colgate, the No. 4 seed, might have the most balanced team with the third-best offense at 62.8 points per game and the top defense that allowed 55.9 points per game.
Boston University’s Caitlin Wimar and Navy’s Zanai Barnett-Gay led the conference in scoring this season with 18.5 points and 18.3 points per game, respectively.
Holy Cross’ Bronagh Power-Cassidy and Lehigh’s Ella Stemmer led the Patriot League in 3-point shooting with 2.4 per game. Power-Cassidy averaged 16.6 points per game – third in the conference – while Stemmer averaged 13.7 points per game – sixth.
