Florida defied the odds just by getting to Omaha for the College World Series. Can the Gators keep their title hopes alive with three wins in a span of two days?
They checked the first box early Wednesday with a blowout win over Kentucky in a game that was postponed from Tuesday night. A win in Wednesday night’s semifinal battle with Texas A&M would move Florida just one win away from the finals and set up a third consecutive elimination game for the Gators on Thursday.
The Aggies are in the driver’s seat, needing just one win to advance thanks to their dominant pitching so far in Omaha. Texas A&M already held the Gators to two runs over the weekend, and that momentum carried over into Monday, when starter Ryan Prager took a no-hitter into the seventh inning.

On paper, a Texas A&M team that has been lights out on the mound in recent days is a tough matchup for a Florida team that often had a hard time hitting for contact this season. Jac Caglianone, however, is red hot after reaching base in all five of his at-bats earlier in the day, and the rest of the Gators’ lineup has risen to the occasion.
Two more wins from Florida would make it a sort of Cinderella run for a Gators program that had down year by its high standards, but a win by Texas A&M on Wednesday would put the Aggies through to the College World Series finals for the first time in program history.

Florida vs. Texas A&M live updates, highlights from College World Series
(All times Eastern)
Texas A&M 2, Florida 0
8:13 p.m. SACRIFICE FLY — Jameson induces a flyout, but it’s easily deep enough to get another run in for the Aggies. Florida might be alright with that result knowing it means an out, though. Stopping the bleeding right here will be key.
Texas A&M 1, Florida 0
8:08 p.m. RBI WALK — Peterson walks Ted Burton, driving in the first run of the game, and his night is done. Fisher Jameson is coming in to try and stave off disaster after Peterson’s messy start.
8:06 p.m. — Peterson gets a strikeout to limit the bleeding, but Hayden Scott works a walk to load the bases with one out. Florida at least has to keep this from getting ugly.
8:00 p.m. — Real trouble for Peterson now, as he issues back-to-back walks to start the night. Jace LaViolette joins Grahovac on the basepaths for the Aggies.
7:58 p.m. — Liam Peterson struggled against these Aggies earlier in the College World Series, and he starts the day with by walking Gavin Grahovac.
7:56 p.m. — We are underway in Omaha!
6:50 p.m. — This game will officially start at 7:55 p.m. ET.
6:46 p.m. — Tennessee wins, and the winner of this series will face the Volunteers in an all-SEC finals starting Saturday.
6:35 p.m. — This game is not expected to start on time as Tennessee-Florida State finishes up. That game fortunately doesn’t look like it will drag on too long, but be advised this won’t actually be a 7 p.m. ET first pitch.
6:32 p.m. — Tennessee is wrapping up a win over Florida State, barring a stunning comeback, so the top-seeded volunteers would have a matchup set with Texas A&M if the Aggies won tonight.
