In what is sure to be an incredible atmosphere, Anthony Joshua will vie to become a three-time heavyweight champion when he takes on IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in London on September 21. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will be broadcast by DAZN.

Despite being the challenger, Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) is the clear betting favorite. The 34-year-old boxer-puncher holds wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin and Andy Ruiz in money-spinning world title fights. Of all the elite-level fighters he’s faced over the years, Oleksandr Usyk is the only man that “AJ” has been unable to master.

“[The Dubois fight] could go 12 rounds because I’m very determined and so is he,” said Joshua in a recent interview with The Sporting News. “Aside from boxing ability, strength… it’s your will. I’m at the stage where you can hit me with a bulldozer, and while I might take a step back, I’ll take two steps forward.

“No doubt in my mind, I’m going to be the three-time heavyweight champion of the world.”

Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) is coming off the two best wins of his career to date. In December, the hard-hitting Londoner scored a 10th-round TKO over colossal American force Jarrell Miller before picking up the interim IBF crown with an eighth-round stoppage of the previously unbeaten Filip Hrgovic in June. Despite the odds being against him, the defending champion is positive that he can spring the upset.

“Of course, they’re [underestimating me]. He’s going to be in for the shock of his life,” Dubois said via Sky Sports. “I’ve got to make him quit, break him down. That’s my mindset going into this. Making him quit, breaking him. I believe I can.”

The Sporting News will provide undercard results and a full report on the main event from Wembley Stadium.
