“Jan looks to Michael like she’s expecting him to be very impressed. And Michael says, ‘The tennis player?’” describes Kinsey (transcription via EW). “And Jan says, ‘Well, it’s a little more than that. He’s the sixth-ranked player in the world, and he’s won four grand slams.’”
Kinsey continued to describe the banter between Michael and Jan. “‘That’s a lot of grand slams, I guess.’ And Jan says, ‘And He’s a humanitarian — something with orphans.’ And Michael says, ‘Can I just sit here for a minute without more things coming into my head?’”
Fischer revealed Roddick’s inclusion in the story might have been because Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute, and Roddick were good friends. According to Fischer, the tennis star would visit the set often.

“I have to imagine that the reason they wrote it as being Andy Roddick’s sperm was a little bit of a nod to Andy, who has an amazing sense of humor,” explains Fischer. “I am so sad for his sake that this did not stay in the episode.”
After nearly 13 years of pondering, the mystery of the sperm donor has finally been unveiled! Now the next you re-watch The Office for the millionth time, you will know it was Andy Roddick.
