Drew McIntyre Is All About CM Punk Debuting In AEW

By | August 25, 2021

CM Punk sent shockwaves across the pro wrestling world after he made his debut on last week’s AEW Rampage: The First Dance. He was in talks with AEW for quite a long time as well. It seems a WWE Superstar approves of CM Punk’s pro wrestling return.

Punk himself absolutely loved his AEW debut and he wasn’t the only one as Mick Foley was also elated with CM Punk becoming the biggest topic of discussion in the pro wrestling world.

On the other hand, Booker T had a different opinion when it came to CM Punk’s debut prom as he felt Punk didn’t deliver the best he could with his promo.

While speaking to Pro Wrestling Bits, Drew McIntyre was asked about CM Punk making his debut in AEW. McIntyre made it clear that he is all about anything that will help the pro wrestling business as a whole.

“Just anything that’s good for wrestling, I’m all about. I was outside the company — 2014 to 2017, working in the independents and with IMPACT, and just trying to make wrestling a healthier, better place, and it’s healthy right now. It’s in an incredible place. It helps that WWE is still at the top leading the charge, and anything that can make it better I’m all about. So, yeah, if it makes a positive difference, it gets a thumbs up from me.”

CM Punk has singlehandedly has brought back a significant amount of interest in pro wrestling again and it will be interesting to see how AEW will carry on with the momentum in the coming weeks.
