Roman Reigns Puts On Mask To Wrestle In Crowd At WWE Extreme Rules

Roman Reigns missed months of action during the pandemic, but he made his return just over a year ago to the surprise of fans. The pandemic is still going and The Tribal Chief acknowledges COVID-19.

Reigns and Finn Balor wrestled in the main event of Extreme Rules. That match was an intense encounter and it featured one spot where they wrestled in the crowd.

The Head of the Table threw on a face mask while he wrestled in the Columbus crowd. He obviously pays attention to the rising COVID-19 numbers and he knows that the Delta Variant is a very real risk he doesn’t want to take.

Reigns beat a battle with leukemia not two years ago, and that might have left his immune system compromised. We are uncertain if that 100% played into his reasoning, but it is a very real possibility. If anything, we can be sure that Reigns didn’t want to take the risk.

They did not mention Roman’s mask on commentary. When the action returned to the ring Reigns took his mask off and continued the match.
