A third Deadpool movie is in the works at Marvel Studios, but fans still don’t have an idea on when to expect Ryan Reynolds and his iconic character to hit the big screen. During a recent interview, though, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave fans a promising update.

Speaking to ComicBook during a recent press run for the upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Feige was asked about where things stand on the upcoming film and said that they do have a release window in mind.

“We do [have a release window tentatively set]. The script is in the works and Ryan is working very hard on it with our writers as we speak.” Feige said. This is good news for fans wanting more information, but things still seem a ways away in terms of the film being completely ready. Ryan Reynolds recently said he hopes to start filming the picture next year, and with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 pretty full, it’s anyone’s guess as to when Deadpool 3 can possibly slot in.

Deadpool 3 will continue to be led by Ryan Reynolds as he reprises his role as Wade Wilson. It is unclear if the first two movies will still have some connection to the third installment, given that it will now take place in the MCU. There are currently no release date, director, or other actors attached to the project yet.

The first two Deadpool films are both box-office successes as they earned a combined worldwide gross of over $1.5 billion. They were both written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, based on the Marvel character created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, with the first one directed by Tim Miller, and Deadpool 2 directed by David Leitch.
