Margot Robbie Joins Wes Anderson’s Newest Feature

Following the recent casting of Oscar winner Tom Hanks, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Academy Award nominee Margot Robbie has officially signed on in her first project with acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson. Further details about the upcoming film’s plot and characters are still being kept under wraps, but production is expected to begin in Spain later this month.

The untitled project, which is rumored to be a love story set in Europe, will be written and directed by Wes Anderson. Hanks and Robbie will be joining long-time Wes Anderson collaborators, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, and Bill Murray, who are all set to star in the filmmaker’s long-awaited The French Dispatch film which is set to arrive in theaters on October 22.

Anderson is best known for his work on films such as The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Isle of Dog, which all earned him award nominations, with The Grand Budapest Hotel giving him four Oscar wins.

This marks Robbie’s latest high-profile ensemble project, after starring in all-star films such as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Bombshell, Birds of Prey, and the most recent one The Suicide Squad. She will also next be seen in two other ensemble movies like Damien Chazelle’s period drama Babylon, and in David O. Russell’s untitled feature.
