Cavan Biggio signs with the Astros on a minor league deal
Hall of Famer Craig Biggio on his son, Cavan, signing with the Astros:
“We’re really excited for him, excited for the team and really looking forward to him wearing an Astros uniform and playing. We’ll see how it goes. I’m excited for him.”

Cavan Biggio started off his MLB career with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he shined in his rookie year, earning a 3.1 bWAR and receiving Rookie of the Year consideration.
He never replicated the heights he reached in 2019 with the Blue Jays, and he has recently played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and the Kansas City Royals. His minor-league deal with the Astros also has an invitation to major-league camp, so there’s hope that he could compete for a roster spot if he impresses in the spring.
Cavan Biggio was a bat boy for the Astros while his dad played for the team, which is a fact not easily lost on the 30-year-old.
Cavan Biggio on joining the Astros: “The colors are a little different, but the meaning is still the same. It’s definitely a little bit more special wearing it as a player than, say, a bat boy.” pic.twitter.com/YmofHQvBRG
