Could Canucks draft both Ruck twins? How NHL Draft lines up to target WHL stars

By | May 11, 2026

Liam and Markus Ruck are going to be taken quite high in the 2026 NHL Draft.

There might be a chance the Vancouver Canucks could land both twins who lit up the Western Hockey League this season.

The Canucks pick at 24th and 35th (after picking No. 3 overall), and there’s at least a chance the Rucks are available at those two spots.

It’d certainly be quite the story if the duo ended up with the same team.

They just had absurd seasons for the Medicine Hat Tigers, and success at their level in the WHL often points to strong NHL careers, too.

Take this awesome stat that links Markus to Sidney Crosby:

Markus went for 21 goals and 87 assists this season.

Liam had 45 goals and 59 assists.

Clearly, they know how to play together. If a team could pull it off, why not keep them together? Maybe Vancouver could pull it off.
