CHAMPAIGN, Illinois, March 13 — The Benet Academy [Lisle, IL] Redwings needed a last-second free throw to survive a 39-38 gut check in the IHSA Class 4A semifinals against the DePaul College Prep [Chicago, IL] Rams.
But a win’s a win, and now the Redwings have just one more team left standing in their way – a Marist [Chicago, IL] Redhawks’ squad they previously beat in a 77-68 win back on February 17.
That game was close enough to suggest that the Redwings – ranked No. 17 in the latest edition of The Sporting News High School Boys Basketball Top 25 – could have their hands full against the Redhawks.
Game time is set for a 6:45 p.m. EST (5:45 p.m. CST local) tip.
