LeBron James has 10 possible free agent landing spots, and Rich Paul shared them all

By | July 3, 2026

LeBron James is apparently choosing from one-third of the NBA.

His agent, Rich Paul, recently listed out the 10 possible landing spots that James could go to.

Yeah, 10 is a lot, and the reality is that the list is probably shorter.

But when Paul joined Max Kellerman in a new episode of their show, they put 10 “realistic” teams on a whiteboard.

Those 10:

  • Philadelphia 76ers
  • New York Knicks
  • Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Minnesota Timberwolves
  • Denver Nuggets
  • Miami Heat
  • Golden State Warriors
  • Boston Celtics
  • San Antonio Spurs
  • Dallas Mavericks

Of those teams, the Nuggets, Timberwolves, Celtics and Mavs are among the ones that have been rumored the least before now, but there isn’t a total shock on the list.

Earlier in this process, there was a lot of assumption that the Warriors were the favorite. There was the suggestion, though, that James wanted to go there with Anthony Davis, and that Golden State didn’t want to trade for AD, so that made everything a bit more complicated.

Now, James appears to be taking his time, and he’s likely hoping to hear the plans of a bunch of these teams before he chooses any of them.

James is 41 and will turn 42 midway through the 2026-27 season. He doesn’t have much NBA time left. He wants to get this right, and he’s considering all sorts of options.
