The Redhawks of Miami (Ohio) have mastered the art of winning close games. Now, their in-state rival is all that stands in the way of a perfect regular season.
Miami handled business against Ohio when the two met on Feb. 13, winning 90-74, but the Redhawks’ final regular season test comes on the road. Ohio undoubtedly will feel a little extra motivation to end Miami’s undefeated dreams at the last minute.
If the Redhawks can finish the job, they would be the first team to put together an undefeated season since Gonzaga in 2020-21. Don’t expect Miami to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament like the ‘Zags were, though. Due to a weak non-conference schedule and shaky metrics, the Redhawks’ tournament hopes are still seemingly up in the air as they go for perfection.

“There is no reason on God’s green earth why a team that goes 30-0 in the regular season, only the 4th team in the last 45 years to do so, can’t make a field of 1-of-68. That’s insane.”pic.twitter.com/pEAfXGz1XD
