PSG vs Lille live updates, highlights from Ligue 1

Final: PSG 4-3 LOSC Lille

94th min.: Messi scores! The ball goes to the goalkeeper’s side and beats him inside the right post.

93rd min.: Free kick for PSG. Lionel Messi draws the foul from Benjamin Andre at the top of the box. This is well within Messi’s range for a potential dramatic winner.

90th min.: Seven minutes of stoppage time. There’s still time for another goal.

87th min.: Goal PSG! It’s Kylian Mbappe who rescues his team again. Juan Bernat cuts the ball back into the middle of the box where Mbappe applies the sliding finish to make it 3-3.

Watch in USA:

84th min.: Chance PSG! Lionel Messi comes alive with a run in the box and the ball ends up at the feet of Juan Bernat who pokes at goal, but Lille goalkeeper Chevalier makes the surehanded stop. Moments later it’s Kylian Mbappe with a shot, also from the left side, but Chevalier rises to the occasion again.

76th min.: Reports are that PSG sporting director Luis Campos has come down near the bench area. Not a good sign. Perhaps he should have a word with Lionel Messi, who has been invisible in this game.

75th min.: SUBS PSG. Triple sub by manager Christophe Galtier. Danilo, Carlos Soler and Zaire-Emery are on for Pembele, Vitinha, and Ruiz. PSG are going to three in the back.

70th min.: Goal Lille! What a ball from midfield by Andre Gomes for Jonathan Bamba, who gets inside PSG left-back Juan Bernat and finishes past Gigi Donnarumma. Lille go from 2-0 down to 3-2 up.

Watch in USA:

64th min.: Yellow card Lille. Jonathan Bamba goes into the book.

58th min.: Goal Lille! The visitors tie it up on a penalty converted by Jonathan David. It’s the 2-2 equalizer.

56th min.: Penalty Lille. PSG’s Marco Verratti is punished for pulling on Tiago Djalo’s jersey on a corner kick. And the referee is pointing to the spot, with Verratti getting a yellow card.

Watch in USA:

51st min.: SUB PSG. Neymar is stretchered off injured. Hugo Ekitike replaces him.

49th min.: Neymar injured. The Brazilian sprains the same ankle that has given him issues this season. On a fair challenge by Lille’s Benjamin Andre Neymar’s right foot twisted as it hit the ground. The training staff are out to tend to him. It looks like he’s coming off.

46th min.: Second half is underway. And Lille are immediately on the front foot.

Halftime: PSG 2, Lille 1

Halftime: The story of that first half is Lille playing the better football, but PSG’s stars have made the difference so far, coming up with plays when it mattered.

PSG are vulnerable and they suffered for stretches during that first 45 minutes. Their defense is not good enough to shut down Lille, and if it wasn’t for Gigi Donnarumma, Lille could’ve had a few goals. The visitors look like they can create more opportunities.

45th min.: Yellow card Lille. It’s goal scorer Bafode Diakite who gets it for stopping a promising PSG attaack. He accepts it with no complaints.

43rd min.: The teams exchange scoring chances, Kylian Mbappe is thwarted on one end and Remy Cabella on the other. The bottom line is that Lille are consistently dangerous when they get into the attack. PSG’s ability to defend is definitely in question in this game.

37th min.: Chance Lille. Nice play from the visitors and it ends with an Angel Gomes shot from 20 yards out which finishes high. But Lille can create when they get on the ball.

31st min.: SUB PSG On a play in the PSG box, left-back Nuno Mendes picks up an injury after attempting to stop a Jonathan Bamba shot. Mendes has to leave the game and Juan Bernat replaces him.

24th min.: Goal Lille! A short corner is whipped in and right-back Bafode Diakite nods it down for the neat finish past Gigi Donnarumma. Lille are back in this game.

Watch in USA:

22nd min.: Chance Lille! A cross by left-back Tim Weah is headed on goal by Jonathan David and PSG ‘keeper Gigi Donnarumma comes up with a big save. That’s a third big chance for Lille to start the match.

17th min.: Goal PSG! The home side floods the Lille box and the ball goes from left to right. Lille’s goalkeeper comes out to stop Vitinha, but the ball pops to Neymar who easily touches it home.

Watch in USA:

Watch in UK:

14th min.: SUB Lille. Captain and centre-back Jose Fonte is injured after lunging to attempt to stop the Mbappe goal. Teenager Leny Yoro, only 17, replaces him.

12th min.: Goal PSG! Neymar feeds Mbappe making a run down the left, and the French star splits two defenders in the box with a nutmeg and slides it under the goalkeeper. What a goal.

Watch in USA:

Watch in UK:

10th min.: Chance Lille. A poor headed backpass by Presnel Kimpembe is intercepted by Lille’s Jonathan David, who can’t get the ball past Gigi Donnarumma 1-on-1. That was served up on a platter.

5th min.: Chance PSG! First opportunity for the hosts. After a blocked Neymar shot, the ball is lofted over to a wide open Lionel Messi in the box. His volley is stopped by goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, though Messi looked offside. The corner is given.

1st min.: Chance Lille. The visitors kick off and they have a chance in the first 30 seconds! A great through ball and it’s Timothy Weah who gets the shot off and Gigi Donnarumma has to come up with the kick save!
