Seahawks turning 6-foot-5 WR into a CB with fascinating position change

The Green Bay Packers defender is Bo Melton. He’s a former wide receiver who converted to cornerback before the 2025 season.

He’s guarding Seattle Seahawks WR Tyrone Broden. And Broden is trying to follow those footsteps.

Ahead of the 2026 season, the Seahawks are considering making Broden into a CB himself.

They don’t really make cornerbacks who look like Broden. At 6-foot-5, that’d be the lankiest CB out there.

That 4.37-second 40-yard dash speed is also immensely intriguing.

The reality is that Seattle is trying to make the most of the resources available to it. If the Seahawks felt Broden didn’t have a good chance to break through as a WR, they’d still want to make the most of his athletic traits. Maybe cornerback is the way to do that.

It’s not a guarantee that it works out for Broden, but he’s got the raw athleticism. If he can pick up some of the technique, he could get good in a hurry.
