It’s race day! And there’s a lot at stake.
Ryan Blaney enters the 2022 Coke Zero Sugar 400 without a win, and currently on the outside looking in for a playoff spot as the NASCAR Cup Series regular season enters its final race before the playoffs. But he has to like his chances.
Blaney won the race at the Daytona International Speedway a season ago to send him to the playoffs as the second-seeded driver behind eventual winner Kyle Larson. He also finished fourth racing in the Daytona 500 to start the season.
On points and tiebreakers, he would appear to have the best chance at reaching the playoffs, as the only way he could miss the playoffs is if a driver currently outside the playoff picture would win the race and Martin Truex Jr. would earn at least 26 more points than Blaney in the race.
The Sporting News has everything you need to watch Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at the Daytona International Speedway.
