Ivanna Sakhno teases Shin Hati and Baylan Skoll’s role in Ahsoka Season 2
Speaking with The Direct during promotion for M3GAN 2.0, Ivanna Sakhno revealed, “I get to see Rory nearly daily at the moment,” highlighting that the two villains will appear in many scenes together. Lucasfilm cast Rory McCann as Baylan after Ray Stevenson’s death in May 2023, ensuring the character’s story continues.
Sakhno noted, “He has been amazing to work with. I will have his work speak for itself, but he is definitely a gift for us to have. And there couldn’t have been anyone better to take on this role.” The interview confirmed that she and McCann are currently filming in London, with production underway on Season 2.
The upcoming season will see Rosario Dawson return as Ahsoka Tano. Natasha Liu Bordizzo reprises her role as Sabine Wren, with Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Lucasfilm stated that the story will continue with Ahsoka and Sabine, who ended Season 1 stranded on Peridea. Meanwhile, Thrawn returned to the main Star Wars galaxy.
Sakhno’s Shin Hati and McCann’s Baylan Skoll drive the narrative forward as the new Force-wielding antagonists. Season 2 will explore their reasons for traveling to Peridea, while Ahsoka and her allies work to uncover the truth. At the same time, Ezra Bridger and the New Republic confront Thrawn’s dangerous rise to power without Ahsoka’s immediate support on their side.
Ahsoka Season 2, by Dave Filoni, is reportedly expected to release on Disney+ in 2026.
