Prime Video has released the official trailer for the second season of American Rust, featuring the return of Jeff Daniels as police chief Del Harris. Now under the title American Rust: Broken Justice, the crime drama will arrive on the streamer on March 28.
The trailer starts with Del Harris saying, “Nobody understands all the things you have to do when you wear a badge,” previewing that the police chief might go against the system in order “to put away the bad man.”

What is American Rust: Broken Justice about?
Per the show’s synopsis, American Rust: Broken Justice will take audiences “back to the fictional small town of Buell, Pennsylvania. Del Harris and Grace Poe try to rebuild their lives after the harrowing events of Season One. Season Two picks up with a string of seemingly unrelated murders, hinting at a much larger conspiracy that threatens everyone in this small, tight-knit town.”
The show is based on Philipp Meyer’s critically acclaimed novel of the same name. Following its cancellation on Showtime, Prime Video picked up the series.
Who will star in American Rust: Broken Justice?
In addition to Maura Tierney as Grace Poe and Daniels as Del Harris, American Rust: Broken Justice enlisted most of the Season 1 cast members, including Kyle Beltran as Detective Fisher, Alex Neustaedter as Billy Poe, Rob Yang as Chief Steve Park, Mark Pellegrino as Virgil Poe, David Alvarez as Isaac English, and Julie Mayorga as Lee English.
Season 2 will be joined by Luna Lauren Velez as Detective Angela Burgos, Nick Sandow as Mike Orr, Christopher Denham as Russell Wolff, Marc Menchaca as Vic Walker, Amelia Workman as Rinna Bransford, Britian Seibert as Cynthia Frazier, Leon Addison Brown as Chief Bolt, and Sara Lindsey as Maya Park.
