Master of None Season 3 Trailer Sets May Release Date

Netflix has released the official trailer for the upcoming third season of Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang‘s acclaimed comedy series Master of None, which will now be led by Emmy winner Lena Waithe and BAFTA winner Naomi Ackie (The Rise of Skywalker). The video highlights various moments of Denise and Alicia’s relationship while also teasing the appearance of Ansari’s Dev. The series is scheduled to make its return on May 23, four years after it premiered its 10-episode second season.

Directed by Ansari from a script he co-wrote with Waithe, Season 3 will be titled Master of None Presents: Moments in Love which reportedly consists of five episodes that will chronicle the relationship of Denise and her partner Alicia. Production on the upcoming season was done in London during the ongoing pandemic.

The new season is a modern love story that intimately illustrates the ups and downs of marriage, struggles with fertility, and personal growth both together and apart. Fleeting romantic highs meet crushing personal losses while existential questions of love and living are raised.

Based on the comedic viewpoints of Aziz Ansari, Master of None follows the personal and professional lives of Dev (Aziz Ansari), a 30-year-old actor in New York who has trouble deciding what he wants to eat, much less the pathway for the rest of his life. Ambitious, funny, cinematic, and both sweeping in scope and intensely personal, Dev’s story takes him through subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner.

Master of None was created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang, who also serve as executive producers along with Michael Schur, Dave Becky, David Miner and Igor Srubshchik. It is a Universal Television production for Netflix.

The second season previously included a Denise-centered episode titled “Thanksgiving,” which revolved around the character’s coming out story. The said episode won both Waithe and Ansari an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Writing.
