Original Inuyasha Anime Getting HD Remaster Blu-rays in Japan

The original Inuyasha anime is getting a Blu-ray collection for the first time ever in Japan. The four-volume box set will include an HD remaster of all 167 episodes in 16:9 aspect ratio, although the original 4:3 standard definition version will also be included (via Crunchyroll).

Each volume will release sequentially with the first scheduled to release in Japan on December 24. The next ones will follow with the second on February 25, the third on March 25, and the final one on May 27.

Each of the four box sets will also include selected soundtracks from across the different seasons of the anime. At this point in time, there’s no announcement on the box set coming West.

Inuyasha can currently be watched on both Funimation and Crunchyroll, although neither service has all the episodes. Season 2 of the sequel series, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, is also set to air in October 2021.
