How to Time Travel to Turkey Day and Toy Day

In what is suppose to be the happiest time of the year, Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ latest v1.6.0 Winter Update has revealed a rather unexpected surprise that will surely disappoint some players.

As of the v1.6.0 update, players will no longer be able to manipulate the Switch’s Time and Date setting in order to Time Travel to the latest holiday events, as all events will now only take place on the day in which they are actually set to occur. At the time of writing, it is assumed that the update will go live on the day before or the day the event is set to take place.

The Winter Holiday Events are scheduled to go live on the following dates:

  • Turkey Day will go live on Thanksgiving at 6:00am and will run until 10:00pm on Thursday the 26th November 2020.
  • Toy Day will go live on Christmas Eve on Thursday the 24th December 2020. Do note, a few select items will begin appearing in Nook’s Cranny starting from the 1st December to the 25th December.

While news of Time Travel restrictions have been circulating the community for quite some time, the update still manages to come as a surprise, as the Halloween Event that just past saw no such restrictions. As to why these restrictions have been put in place, we are currently unsure, but we will share any further updates as they come available.

Can You Revisit Turkey Day and Toy Day

While you won’t be able to Time Travel forward to Turkey Day or Toy Day, it is currently believed that once the update has gone live, players will be able to time travel backwards in order to replay the event should you have missed it.
