Gable Steveson Admits Brock Lesnar Was A Huge Influence In Signing With WWE

By | September 18, 2021

Gable Steveson is now a huge name in the world of sports due to his incredible performance at the Tokyo Olympics. WWE wanted him and they didn’t hide that fact as even Vince McMahon went all out to sign him.

WWE finally managed to sign Gable Steveson to a contract this month and put all speculation to rest as far as where the 21-year-old will go next.

It was also reported that Gable Steveson signed a unique contract with WWE, which is exclusive in nature. This means that UFC and other promotions can no longer try to take him away.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Gable Steveson admitted that Brock Lesnar was a huge influence in him finally signing with WWE as Lesnar’s route is helpful for him.

“Besides talking to guys like Lesnar and Triple H and such, I haven’t actually talked to another collegiate wrestler in WWE….[Brock] was a good part [of the decision] because the Brock Lesnar path, like we talked about, he started with WWE and went to the NFL and made it to the final stages of being on the team, then went to UFC. So, I mean the Brock Lesnar route is helpful for me, and I want to pave my own way and have my own destiny. He was a big help in this, and it was cool that he gave me some guidance.”

WWE is also setting up a remote training facility for Gable, so it will be interesting to see how he will fare in the company once he makes his debut there.
