Tony Nese Says WWE Wouldn’t Let Him Have WrestleMania Match He Wanted

By | June 26, 2021

Tony Nese was released from WWE this week, but he’s not going to let that stop him. Now the former 205 Live star can look onto the future as he sets to make his mark in the pro wrestling business following his WWE release. He also won’t have people telling him that he can’t have the match he wants to.

Nese commented on Twitter to thank everyone who have praised his match with Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania. That was a great time for his career, but he still didn’t get to have the match he wanted to put on. The two did have that match on the next 205 Live, and he suggested that fans watch that match instead.

I love that my Mania moment left an impression on some of you. I suggest watching the rematch vs @WWE_Murphy from the 205live after. That was the match we really wanted to give you but weren’t allowed. Good thing is, no one in-house even watches 205 so we just did it then

Tony Nese and Buddy Murphy might be able to have many more matches against each other. They were both released from their WWE contracts a few weeks apart from each other. We’ll have to see what’s next for Nese, but he might have a lot more to say about his time in WWE once the dust settles.

In case you’re wondering, we dug up that 205 Live match that Nese suggested and have included it below.
