WWE Cancelled Drew McIntyre WWE Title Program Due To Injury

By | August 27, 2021

WWE had a lot of plans that needed to be switched around last year, but one of those scheduled matches had to change due to injury. That is the case with one program that Drew McIntyre really wanted as WWE Champion.

While speaking to Fightful, Drew McIntyre revealed that he was disappointed when Jinder Mahal was taken out of action with a knee injury. They were set to have a program for the WWE Title, one McIntyre said would be very cool, but that didn’t come to pass.

McIntyre told us that he was disappointed when Jinder Mahal went down with the injury, and thought there was a lot of cool stuff they could have done together.

Mahal and McIntyre were able to have their program through SummerSlam this year, one that McIntyre won. It wasn’t for the WWE Title, but perhaps they can circle back to that idea if and when the Scottish Warrior or Modern Day Maharaja ever regain the top title.
