Microsoft Sent Snoop Dogg an Xbox Series X Fridge for His Birthday

By | October 24, 2020

Many have previously joked that the upcoming Xbox Series X resembles a fridge, and now Microsoft has fully embraced the comparison as it has sent an Xbox Series X-shaped fridge to Snoop Dogg.In a now-deleted post by Snoop Dog, that was saved by Wario64, Snoop shows off his new fridge that literally looks like a giant Xbox Series X, complete with a glowing Xbox symbol.

What’s more, it was filled with an Xbox Series X birthday cake that says “Happy Birthday to the Xbox OG,” an actual Xbox Series X, gin and juice in honor of his song, Xbox-themed jewelry, and more.

He even ends the video by saying the classic EA Sports tagline – “It’s in the game.”

Snoop Dogg is no stranger to Xbox and video games, as he was recently put into NHL 20 as a playable character and commentator and, in 2013, released his own game – Way of the Dogg – on Xbox Live Arcade, PS3, and mobile platforms.

He also recorded a song and music video in honor of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 called Knocc ‘Em Down.”Oh, and we can’t forget the time he participated in one of our IGN Originals to give fans a look at what Snoop Dogg would like like in some of the most popular games of all-time.As for the fridge comparisons, it all began when the Xbox Series X was officially revealed.Daniel Ahmad, senior analyst at Niko Partners, tweeted out a joke comparison of the Xbox Series X to the then-unrevealed PlayStation 5 that made it look like a fridge, and this may have helped start what has now brought us a lot of laughs.

Following that, Xbox leaned into the joke and even provided a look at an Xbox Series X next to a fridge for scale. Furthermore, it explained why it looks the way it does and why it went with a new look for its upcoming next-gen console.

The Xbox Series X, alongside the smaller, less fridge-like Xbox Series S, will both be released on November 10, 2020.
