College football rankings: Updated NCAA Top 25 polls after Miami, Ole Miss losses in Week 8

By | October 19, 2025

Week 8 of the 2025 college football season was as good as advertised, if not better.

There were ranked matchups across the Saturday slate, but the entertaining action began on Friday night. No. 2 Miami’s first loss of the season came at the hands of unranked Louisville, and No. 25 Nebraska failed to get going as it fell to unranked Minnesota.

On Saturday, No. 9 Georgia handed No. 5 Ole Miss its first loss of the season, while No. 7 Texas Tech’s first loss of the year came at the hands of unranked Arizona State. No. 22 Memphis’ undefeated run came to an end thanks to unranked UAB.

As for the other showdowns, No. 6 Alabama earned a 37-20 win over No. 11 Tennessee, No. 17 Vanderbilt earned a massive win over No. 10 LSU., No. 13 Notre Dame made it five wins in a row with a win over No. 20 USC, and No. 15 BYU remained undefeated with a 24-21 victory over rival Utah. Given all that happened throughout Week 8, there will be some shake-ups in the polls.

Here’s how the coaches and AP polls look after eight weeks of the college football season.

This story will be updated as Week 9 rankings are released
