It can be the frustration of baseball. Everything can go right, except the result.
That would sum up the start to the 2026 MLB season for New York Yankees centerfielder Trent Grisham.
He’s batting just .133 through April 12. That’s obviously not ideal.
But the other numbers suggest things will get better.
Grisham has significantly lowered his strikeout rate this season.
He has also significantly raised his hard-hit rate.

That combination should lead to more hits, not less.
Man, I know Trent Grisham is hitting .133, but
K% DOWN (25% to 17%)
HARD-HIT UP (46% to 63%)He’s hitting the ball up the middle a lot, which are getting swallowed up.
On the list of “concerning things about the Yankees,” not sure he’s top 20.

As Petriello writes about the bottom of that post, there are reasons to be concerned about some things with this Yankees lineup.
Grisham, though? Seems like he should start trending toward being just fine.
