World Series Game 7 live score: Dodgers vs. Blue Jays updates, results, highlights from 2025 Fall Classic

By | November 1, 2025

JUMP TO:

Vladimir Guerrero had an October to remember for the Toronto Blue Jays, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto can say the same for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Who will step up as the newest “Mr. November?”

The World Series is going the distance for the first time since 2019, and everything is on the line. The Blue Jays have one final chance to end a 32-year championship drought after wasting a handful of late-inning opportunities in Friday’s Game 6. The Dodgers, meanwhile, will have to win a second consecutive game on the road to become MLB’s first back-to-back champion since 2000.

Both sides will have nearly all hands on deck. All Dodgers pitchers except Yamamoto will be available in Game 7, and the same can be expected for the Blue Jays, aside from Game 6 starter Kevin Gausman.

L.A. can deploy a combination of Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow, and Blake Snell, while Max Scherzer, Shane Bieber, and even Trey Yesavage should be at John Schneider’s disposal, in addition to a bullpen that has been effective throughout this series.

The crowd will favor the Blue Jays, but the Dodgers are 7-1 on the road in this postseason and ooze championship experience. Whether Toronto has one more magical night in the cards is the burning question entering Game 7.

The Sporting News is tracking live scoring updates and highlights from Game 7 of the World Series. Follow along below for all of the key moments that will decide a championship.

World Series Game 7 live updates, highlights from Dodgers vs. Blue Jays

All times ET.

10:36 p.m. — Emmet Sheehan is in for the Dodgers, attempting to hold Toronto at four runs for a bit longer.

10:34 p.m. — Vlad Jr. continues to amaze at first base. He orchestrates a double-play almost single-handedly, taking a ground out from Freddie Freeman, throwing to second to get Ohtani, then catching the second out to end the inning. Toronto is just two innings away.

10:29 p.m. — Yesavage walks Ohtani to start the seventh. Will Smith comes up as the tying run.

End of sixth inning: Blue Jays 4, Dodgers 2

10:26 p.m. — Guerrero Jr. remains hitless in Game 7 after an inning-ending groundout. But Toronto’s insurance run will linger in the coming frames. Trey Yesavage is coming into the game, just a few days removed from his historic starting performance.

Blue Jays 4, Dodgers 2

10:22 p.m. RBI DOUBLE — Toronto’s bottom of the order continues to rake. Gimenez, who was at the center of the hit-by-pitch drama earlier, gets ahold of a slider from Tyler Glasnow and finds a gap. Clement scores, and the Blue Jays get a massive insurance run in the sixth.

10:19 p.m. — Ernie Clement cannot stop hitting. His second hit of the night is his 29th of the postseason, tying an MLB record with Randy Arozarena in 2020.

10:16 p.m. — Rojas grounds out on a 3-2 pitch from Bassitt, ending the top of the sixth. This is a one-run game though, and it’s anybody’s Game 7. Legends can be made in these next few frames.

10:12 p.m. — Hernandez singles, and the Dodgers have the tying run at second base and the go-ahead run at first base. Rojas is at the plate with Ohtani on deck.

Blue Jays 3, Dodgers 2

10:08 p.m. SAC FLY — It is a one-run game. For the second time, the Dodgers bring a run home on a sacrifice fly. Tommy Edman got one deep enough to score Betts.

10:05 p.m. — Chris Bassitt enters the game for the Blue Jays, and he allows a walk to Betts, then a single to Muncy. The Dodgers are not going down quietly, but can they finally capitalize?

End of fifth inning: Blue Jays 3, Dodgers 1

9:58 p.m. — Glasnow keeps the Blue Jays’ bats quiet in the bottom of the fifth, outside of a single for Alejandro Kirk. Again, we head to another inning with the Dodgers trailing in their quest for two-straight titles.

9:45 p.m. — Scherzer got pulled after 4.1 innings, allowing a single to Rojas before Louis Varland took over on the mound. Ohtani also singled to put the tying run aboard in Game 7, but Varland got out of the top of the fifth after consecutive flyouts. Toronto is inching closer to a title, if it can hold on to its lead.

9:40 p.m. — Scherzer remains in the game, although the Blue Jays’ bullpen is active.

End of fourth inning: Blue Jays 3, Dodgers 1

9:37 p.m. — Guerrero Jr. flies out to center field, and Glasnow gets out of the fourth inning.

9:30 p.m. — Tyler Glasnow is coming into the game after Wrobleski struck out Lukes. Vlad Jr. is coming to the plate with two down and two on base, up 3-1.

9:30 p.m. — George Springer gets another hit, his third of Game 7, lining one back at Wrobleski to follow-up the dramatic hit-by-pitch. The Blue Jays are threatening to add to their lead with one out in the bottom of the fourth.

9:25 p.m. — Wrobleski remained in for the Dodgers, and he caused some drama. The benches clear for perhaps the first time in Game 7 history, as Wrobleski nailed Gimenez with a pitch after coming close inside twice.

The bullpens empty, the managers talk with the umpires, and there was a whole delay for the tempers flaring.

9:21 p.m. — Make it two-straight spectacular defensive Blue Jays plays to prevent runs. This time, it’s Vladdy Jr. laying out to prevent a hit down the right-field line, securing the third out of the top of the fourth. The Dodgers have to settle for just one run despite loading the bases, thanks to Toronto’s defense.

Blue Jays 3, Dodgers 1

9:18 p.m. SAC FLY — Daulton Varsho makes a terrific catch in center field that undoubtedly prevented at least one more run … but the Dodgers still got one home on a sacrifice fly. Hernandez gets the RBI to make it a two-run deficit, but Varsho surely prevented this game from being tied, at the least.

9:17 p.m. — Make it the go-ahead run at the plate for L.A. Teoscar Hernandez comes to the dish against Scherzer after Max Muncy walked to load the bases with one out. Can the Dodgers answer?

9:12 p.m. — Just like that, the Dodgers have the tying run at the plate. Scherzer allows back-to-back hits to Will Smith and Freddie Freeman to start the fourth.

End of third inning: Blue Jays 3, Dodgers 0

9:08 p.m. — Wrobleski strikes out Varsho to prevent further damage. But the Blue Jays will take a 3-0 advantage into the fourth inning, and Bo Bichette is a few innings from becoming a franchise legend thanks to his Game 7 swing.

9:07 p.m. — That was Bichette’s first home run this postseason after being injured up until the World Series. It came at a great time, sending Rogers Centre into a frenzy.

9:05 p.m. — Out comes Shohei Ohtani, with three runs on his Game 7 line. He’ll continue to hit tonight, but his arm just wasn’t all there in his biggest pitching moment of his MLB career. Justin Wrobleski is in for L.A., and he allows a hit to Barger.

Blue Jays 3, Dodgers 0

9:02 p.m. 3-RUN HOME RUN — Bo Bichette makes Shohei Ohtani pay for walking Guerrero Jr., and the Blue Jays have a major advantage in Game 7. On Ohtani’s first pitch to Bichette, he’s all over a breaking ball, sending it into the left field seats.

It’s 3-0 Toronto. One way or another, if they can protect a three-run lead, the Blue Jays will be World Champions.

9:01 p.m. — The Dodgers pitch around Guerrero after a ball got away from Will Smith, advancing the runner to third. An intentional walk puts two on for Bo Bichette.

8:59 p.m. — Another single for the Blue Jays, as Springer punches one into left field. Lukes puts down a sacrifice bunt to move Springer to second base.

8:58 p.m. — Ohtani is approaching 50 pitches as we begin the bottom of the third. Springer leads off.

8:52 p.m. — Max Scherzer has done everything the Blue Jays needed from him so far. He’s through three scoreless innings with another 1-2-3 frame; after striking out Rojas, Scherzer benefited from a nice defensive play in left field from Lukes. Ohtani almost had an extra-base hit, but Lukes ended the frame.

End of second inning: Dodgers 0, Blue Jays 0

8:47 p.m. — Shohei Ohtani comes through for the Dodgers. On a 99 mph fastball, he gets Gimenez swinging to end another Toronto threat. Both teams have gotten baserunners, but no advantages have been taken in the quest for a title yet.

8:44 p.m. — Our first pressure moment of Game 7 is here: the bases are now loaded with two outs, Ohtani on the mound, for Andres Gimenez. Clement also singled to load the bases.

8:41 p.m. — Addison Barger singles to put two runners on, then Alejandro Kirk pops out. It’s two on, one out for Daulton Varsho against Ohtani, who is over 30 pitches.

8:38 p.m. — Bo Bichette walks, giving the Blue Jays another leadoff runner.

8:34 p.m. — No troubles for Max Scherzer so far. The veteran gets a 1-2-3 top of the second.

8:31 p.m. — Max Muncy goes down swinging vs. Scherzer to start the second.

End of first inning: Dodgers 0, Blue Jays 0

8:27 p.m. — We’re scoreless through one frame of Game 7. The Dodgers worked a strike-em-out, throw-em-out, as Ohtani got Vlad Jr. looking, then Will Smith fired a throw to get George Springer in no-man’s-land easily.

8:24 p.m. — Shohei Ohtani’s first strikeout comes against Nathan Lukes on a splitter. He’s the first out in the bottom of the first, and up comes Guerrero Jr.

8:21 p.m. — George Springer, injured or not, continues to find a way to rake. Like Ohtani, he leads off with a single for the Blue Jays.

8:16 p.m. — The Dodgers got some hard contact — all three balls in play were hit at over 100 mph, per Fabian Ardaya — but Scherzer still gets out of the first inning unscathed. Ohtani advanced to third on a fly ball, but Mookie Betts grounded out. Ohtani will now take the mound.

8:14 p.m. — Ohtani singles to lead off Game 7, then Vladimir Guerrero Jr. makes a diving stop on a ground ball to first base to get Will Smith out. Ohtani is in scoring position.

8:11 p.m. — Game 7 is under way as Scherzer fires in a ball to Ohtani.

Pregame

7:55 p.m. — We are minutes away from Game 7 of the 2025 World Series. Will Toronto finally get back on top of the baseball world? Or will the Dodgers successfully defend their throne?

7:45 p.m. — Toronto is ready for Max Scherzer to take the mound as we close out the 2025 MLB season tonight.

6:57 p.m. — Curious why the Dodgers are choosing to start Ohtani, rather than bring him in the game as a reliever? That would be because of the “Shohei Ohtani rule,” which plays a role in Dave Roberts’ decisions on how to utilize his two-way star. If Ohtani was used as a reliever, the Dodgers would lose their DH spot in the lineup.

6:55 p.m. — Dodgers starting pitchers have a 2.48 ERA and 0.92 WHIP this postseason, combined. Shohei Ohtani can add to that, but it’s likely we also see Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow in Game 7.

6:43 p.m. — It’s unlikely we see him (unless it goes extra innings), but Game 7 tonight will be Clayton Kershaw’s final MLB game, assuming he sticks by his announced plans to retire. Will he go out with another ring?

6:25 p.m. — Max Scherzer is making some history tonight as a multi-time World Series Game 7 starter:

6:24 p.m. — Two Game 7s this postseason, two hockey jerseys for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

5:50 p.m. — Let’s recap this wild World Series so far.

Game 1: Blue Jays 11, Dodgers 4. Addison Barger’s grand slam was one of three Toronto homers.

Game 2: Dodgers 5, Blue Jays 1. Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitches another postseason CG.

Game 3: Dodgers 6, Blue Jays 5. An 18-inning classic ends in a Freddie Freeman walk-off HR.

Game 4: Blue Jays 6, Dodgers 2. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homers to help Toronto bounce back.

Game 5: Blue Jays 6, Dodgers 1. Rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage sets records with 12 strikeouts.

Game 6: Dodgers 3, Blue Jays 1. L.A. holds on late behind Yamamoto, Mookie Betts.

What’s in store for Game 7 of a fantastic series?

5:43 p.m. — Future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer gets the ball for the second Game 7 of his career. Here’s Toronto’s lineup as it again pursues its first title in decades:

5:41 p.m. — Shohei Ohtani is officially on the mound tonight for the Dodgers. He likely won’t last more than a few innings, pitching on some of the shortest rest of his career.

Here’s L.A.’s Game 7 lineup:
