What channel is Broncos vs. Rams on today? Time, TV schedule for 2022 NFL Christmas game

By | December 25, 2022

When NFL schedule makers set this clash for Christmas, it looked mighty enticing: Russell Wilson returning to the NFC West to face the reigning Super Bowl champions, with Wilson likely looking to get the Broncos to the playoffs for the first time since Peyton Manning led the team to a title.

But now that the game is here, it has lost its sheen. The Rams have been ravaged by injuries and were eliminated from playoff contention by the Packers on “Monday Night Football.” The Broncos were eliminated in Week 14 of what has been an incredibly disappointing campaign for Denver.

Wilson will be back to quarterback the Broncos on Sunday, but rather than facing Matthew Stafford, he will oppose Baker Mayfield, who has gone 1-1 in his two starts since being claimed by Los Angeles off waivers from Carolina.

Still, this game features high stakes for teams looking at lofty draft picks. The Broncos and Rams enter the game with matching 4-10 records, placing their picks well within the top 10. The loser gets an edge, while the winner will have the chance to tumble below other 4-10 teams.

Of course, the Seahawks and Lions own those two picks, respectively, so those two teams will be hoping their respective trade partner adds another loss to its record.
