Peacock has debuted the official trailer for the upcoming supernatural teen drama titled The Girl in the Woods, based on Crypt TV’s 2018 short film and 2020 sequel. Starring Insidious: Chapter 3 actress Stefanie Scott and directed by Krysten Ritter, all eight episodes will be available for streaming starting on Thursday, October 21.
The Girl in the Woods trailer, which you can check out in the player below, highlights the mystery and dangers surrounding a mysterious door in the woods, which might be connected to the disappearance of five people. It features a not-so-normal teenage runaway who must enlist the help of her two new friends in order to stop the monsters that came from the door.

Peacock’s The Girl in the Woods is written and executive produced by Jane Casey Modderno. The series is is based on Crypt TV’s s 2018 short film “The Door in the Woods,” which was written and directed by Joey Greene, and the 2020 sequel “The Girl in the Woods,” written by David Calbert, Van Nguyen and directed by Roxine Helberg.
“Set in the Pacific Northwest, It follows Carrie’s escape from her mysterious, cult-like colony that guards the world from monsters hidden behind a secret door within the woods,” reads the synopsis. “The series also touches on contemporary social issues like LGBTQ+ discrimination, the human cost of environmentalism and the consequences of inequality.”
It stars Stefanie Scott (Insidious: Chapter 3) as Carrie, Misha Osherovich (Freaky) as Nolan, Sofia Bryant (I Am Not Okay with This) as Tasha, Will Yun Lee (The Good Doctor) as Arthur Dean, Kylie Liya Page (Social Distance) as Sara, Reed Diamond (13 Reasons Why) as Hosea and Leonard Roberts (The Magicians) as Khalil.
